Rumors have flown that Apple will change the popular iPad air to utilize the OLED screen next year. According to Apple analysts recorded Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple changed its plan and will continue to use LCD technology for air throughout 2022. Kuo previously stated that Apple would order iPad Pro technology.

The reason Apple will maintain mini-LED technology exclusively for pro-line devices is cost, even though this technology suffers flammability than OLED. As for why Apple changed the plan, said Kuo in an investor letter that it could not get an OLED iPad to market and fulfill performance and cost requirements.

The first time Apple used Mini LED technology on the iPad Pro line came earlier this year with a 12.9-inch tablet. The same display technology is expected to come in the relegated MacBook Pro model that is expected to be disclosed soon. Smaller 11-inch iPad Pro will get a mini-LED upgrade next year, according to Kuo.

One of the interesting statements Kuo made is that Apple is currently working on new technologies for tablet products for the next 3 to 5 years which will make them lighter, thinner, and can be folded. There are many smartphones folded on the market today, but Apple hasn’t entered the world.

Many expect Apple to debut the folding iPhone. The iPhone model that can be revealed to be an iPad mini size will be very popular. Kuo wrote in his investor, note the main use for the Mini-LED screen from Apple for the future will be a MacBooks. Cheaper MacBook Air is expected to get a mini-LED screen as soon as next year.
