During the PlayStation 5 showcase at the beginning of the month, Sony confirmed that the sequel to Marvel’s spider was under development in the Insomnia game. That there is a sequel on the trip not surprisingly – the first game was well received by critics and fans together and then became one of the best-selling games for Playstation 4. In other words, excitement was high for this sequel, but now Marvel has teased the game with ways that will only make players more excited.

Stopping this week at Marvel Podcast, Marvel Games Bill Rosemann has some interesting things to say about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. “I will say whether the first Spider-Man game is Star Wars, Spider-Man 2 is our type of Empire,” said Rosemann. “It becomes a little darker.”

Rosemann of course, referring to the empire to attack back, the second film in the original Star Wars trilogy and fifth film in Saga chronologically. The empire attacked back widely regarded as one of the best – if it was not the best Star Wars film, not only because the twist was famous, but also because the empire attacked back darker and more seriously than the film that preceded him.

Indeed, the trailer we saw for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 suggested the game take a turn darker than the original. At the trailer, we see Peter Parker and Miles Morales against crime side by side as narrators who are not visible – widely speculated to become craven hunter – ask if anyone can be the same. Poison even makes a surprise appearance towards the end of the trailer, so it seems both our spiders will have full hands in this game.

Unfortunately, we had enough waiting in front of us before we could play. With the disclosure of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 coming news that the game will not be released until 2023, so we have plenty of time to consider Rosemann’s statement made during this podcast.
