Considering Windows has been ridiculed for decades because the security is weak, it is not surprising that Microsoft makes the security of important factors in Windows 11. It even makes certain hardware-based security display the minimum requirements to update to the next big Windows release. While it certainly sounds great in general, it seems at least one aspect of these security measures may have a negative impact on the game running on certain Windows 11 pcs.

The Safety Certification Company UL, which also has popular benchmark tools such as 3DMark and PCMark, revealed a surprising detail about Windows 11 security features that might be ignored by Microsoft or did not bother mentioning. Unfortunately, this is a detail that can affect the game play experience in Windows 11, which is also one of the pillars of the update. Even worse, there might be a way around this feature, at least for now.

According to UL, a VBS-based security system or virtualization applied Windows 11 can cause gaming performance down, something that has been reported by several Windows 11 testers. In theory, VBS should not affect the game because it focuses on a completely different aspect of the operating system. In short, he isolated the RAM part of the entire window 11 to organize several security solutions safely.

VBS, however, isn’t even activated on all Windows 11 pcs. Ul stated that only the fresh installation of Windows 11 was completely activated. They increase from Windows 10, it won’t even see this VBS in action, which shows it’s not an important component for the Windows 11 system that is fully functional.

Unfortunately, there is no clear way to deactivate this VBS feature which seems to be intended for the company system. Meanwhile, UL said that it would update the benchmarking software to detect whether VBS was present and activated to adjust the score for a fairer comparison with Windows Non-VBS 11 pcs.
